CALL FOR PROPOSALS 2021 Fall Professional Development Days
Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) invites you to collaborate with us in determining the programming and planning for our future. The August 2021 three-day Professional Development event addressing the theme of “Creating Transformative Learning Experiences.”
If you would like to discuss a session idea before submitting, contact Veronica Black, Programs Coordinator for the Center for Teaching Excellence at veronica@nmhu.edu.
We will practice social distancing and limit the number of people in our on-campus spaces during sessions. All sessions will also be available via Zoom.
*In the event that the state of New Mexico extends the stay-home order, Development Days will be hosted as an online-only event.*
Is a self-guided Brightspace orientation for faculty. The Virtual Faculty Community is designed to provide information on navigating Brightspace and Zoom. Each module is accompanied with a checklist certificate that will be generated for your professional development records.
For issues accessing the orientation, once in the NMHU Brightspace, you can search the “Select a Course” by clicking on the 9-square icon and typing in “Virtual Faculty Community-Summer.” You can then pin it to your dashboard.
NMHU Writing Center
The NMHU Writing Center is open! We help all writers—undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty—with any writing they’re working on regardless of where they are in the process.
This summer, we will continue hosting all of our sessions online via Zoom.
We are open on the following days: Monday: 11am-4pm Tuesday: 11am-7pm Wednesday: 11am-7pm Thursday: 2pm-7pm

Library Services for
Summer Classes
New Mexico Highlands University Libraries staff are here to support you and your students during the Summer 2021 Semester. While the Donnelly Library building remains closed, most library services and collections are available online.
The librarians can give library instruction sessions via Zoom synchronously or asynchronously for your class. We can also create tutorials for class projects. To request a library instructional session for your class or the creation of a tutorial, contact April Kent at 505-718-6407, ajkent@nmhu.edu.
